During a small and manageable fire:
- Remove the safety pin.

- Direct the nozzle toward the base of the fire.
- Squeeze the operating lever.
- Sweep the nozzle from side to side until the fire is controlled.
Only use the extinguisher when the fire is still small, there is limited smoke and a safe escape route remains available. Evacuate immediately and contact the emergency services when the fire is spreading or cannot be controlled safely.
Installation and Maintenance
The extinguisher should be installed in a clearly visible, properly marked and easily accessible location. Avoid placing it behind furniture, inside locked rooms or in areas where access may be obstructed.
Check the pressure gauge regularly and ensure the indicator remains within the recommended operating zone. The cylinder, hose, nozzle, safety pin and tamper seal should also be inspected for damage, leakage, corrosion or obstruction.
Professional installation, routine inspection and scheduled servicing are recommended. After any use, including partial discharge, the extinguisher should be inspected and recharged by a qualified fire safety technician before being returned to service.
