DL FIRE 25-Litre Mechanical Foam Wheeled Fire Extinguisher
The DL FIRE 25-Litre Mechanical Foam Wheeled Fire Extinguisher is a heavy-duty, stored-pressure unit designed for Class A and Class B fire risks. It features a durable wheeled frame, long flexible discharge hose, metal foam applicator, pressure gauge and safety mechanism. Ideal for fuel-handling areas, warehouses, factories, workshops, transport depots and other large commercial or industrial premises.
The DL FIRE 25-Litre Mechanical Foam Wheeled Fire Extinguisher is a heavy-duty fire protection unit designed for commercial, industrial and other high-risk environments requiring a larger extinguishing capacity. It contains 25 litres of mechanical foam and is intended for controlling Class A and Class B fires during their early and developing stages.
The extinguisher works by discharging foam over the burning material. On flammable-liquid fires, the foam forms a protective layer over the fuel surface, helping to separate the fire from oxygen and reduce the risk of reignition. On solid combustible materials, the foam also provides a cooling effect that helps control the fire.
Mounted on a strong wheeled frame, the extinguisher can be transported more easily across large premises. Its long flexible discharge hose and metal applicator allow the operator to direct the foam toward the fire while maintaining a practical operating distance.
Fire Risk Coverage
The mechanical foam extinguishing agent is suitable for:
- Class A fires involving ordinary combustible materials such as wood, paper, cardboard, textiles and certain plastics
- Class B fires involving compatible flammable liquids such as petrol, diesel and similar hydrocarbon fuels
This extinguisher is not generally intended for flammable-gas fires, cooking-oil fires or energised electrical equipment unless specifically approved by the manufacturer.

Operating Guidance
When the fire can still be approached safely:
- Keep the extinguisher upright and move it into a safe operating position.
- Uncoil the discharge hose fully.
- Remove the safety pin or safety clip.
- Hold the hose and applicator securely.
- Operate the control lever to begin discharging the foam.
- Apply the foam carefully across the burning surface without disturbing the liquid fuel.
- Continue applying the foam until the fire is controlled and the surface is properly covered.
This large-capacity extinguisher should preferably be operated by trained personnel. It should only be used when a clear escape route remains available. Evacuate the area and contact the emergency services immediately when the fire is spreading rapidly, producing heavy smoke or cannot be controlled safely.
Important Usage Limitations
Do not use this foam extinguisher on:
- Energised electrical equipment unless the unit is specifically approved for such use
- Flammable-gas fires
- Cooking oils and deep-fat fryer fires
- Chemicals that may react with water or foam
- Flammable liquids that are not compatible with the supplied foam agent
The correct extinguisher type should always be selected according to the specific fire hazards present at the premises.
Placement and Accessibility
Position the extinguisher in a clearly visible, properly marked and easily accessible location close to the identified fire-risk area. The surrounding floor should remain unobstructed so the wheeled unit can be moved quickly during an emergency.
The hose, applicator, wheels, transport handle and operating controls must remain accessible at all times. Avoid placing the extinguisher behind machinery, stored products, locked doors or other obstacles.
Inspection and Maintenance
The pressure gauge should be checked regularly to confirm that the extinguisher remains within its recommended operating range. The cylinder, wheels, trolley frame, hose, applicator, operating lever and safety seal should also be inspected for:
- Corrosion, leakage or physical damage
- Cracked, damaged or deteriorated hoses
- Blocked discharge components
- Missing or broken safety seals
- Loose fittings or damaged wheels
- Signs of previous use or tampering
Routine inspection and scheduled servicing by a qualified fire safety technician are recommended. After any discharge, including partial use, the extinguisher must be professionally inspected, refilled and repressurised before being returned to service.
